Choosing a modern twist on a classic wedding tradition, they opted out of a sit down meal for a Festive Wine Party. We served heavy passed hors d’oeuvres such as Bacon Wrapped Date with Almond, Mini Beef Wellington, Grilled Salmon Skewer with Thai Dipping Sauce, and Herb Crusted Lamb Chops with Mashed Potatoes and Demi-Sauce in a Martini Glass. Our simple antipasti buffet included Asparagus wrapped with Prosciutto, Endive with Goat Cheese, Honeyed Pecan, and Fresh Fig, Baked Brie with Baguette, Crostini Selections with Olive Tapenade, White Bean and Rosemary, and Basil-Tomato. We added our very popular Chicken Empanadas to give it some spice!
Of course, a good meal is not complete without a selection of delectable mini desserts. We set them up next to the winery’s 250 bottles of actively fermenting Blanc de Noir. They are supposed to be riddled by the wine maker later this Fall and hopefully ready to drink next year. For those of you that love sparkling wine – put it on your calendar to check back with Carr to see if it’s ready. The winery served a lovely selection of their Santa Barbara vineyard wines and Amy’s Father gave a heartwarming toast to the “almost” wedded couple and welcomed Drew into the family. All in all, the evening was a smashing success and we showed all those LA guests that Santa Barbara can entertain with the best of them! Thank you to Discount Party Rentals for providing the lovely linens and to Carr Winery for being so easy to work with and for opening their beautiful space up for events. We look forward to working with you in the future and congratulations again to Amy and Drew from all of us at Catering Connection.
